Gypsy Giraffe

My apologies for lack of posts, things have been crazy here at school. I am currently working on my thesis and trying to keep that off of the internet for now. Anyway, progress in my other works....

For an assignment, in my synergism class, we were asked to pick a page in the dictionary and illustrate it using several different terms. I've been itching to cut paper for a while now, and used this as a perfect excuse.

Enjoy.

"The gipsy giraffe chewed a ginkgo leaf while making gingerbread cookies and drinking a ginger-beer. She wore a girandole while a Ginny-carriage was parked outside."

Moose Transportation

Sorry for lack of posts lately, senior year is in full swing! I promise a ton of work (and a ton of thesis work) is on its way! But for now, here's a watercolor painting of a few forest animals hitching a ride with a moose.
Enjoy!

Cactus Cats!

For my synergism in illustration class we had to do some research on mythical creatures. I chose the cactus cat, a cat who lives in the American southwest. The critter is said to be covered in needle-like hair and has a bone extending from its arm which it uses to cut cacti open (in a spiral pattern) and it drinks the cactus juice. Because the cactus juice is fermented, the cat walks around in the desert, drunk, howling. Cowboys created the creature to explain weird noises they would hear at night. I decided it would be an entertaining image if they had a "cactus bar."

Self Portrait

An assignment for class, a self portrait in black and white of you shouting. It was used as a poster for "Call for Entrees." This was incredibly fun, and I forgot how much I love ink. I'm itching to add color to this....
